One number for the whole pond: the share of listed GPU rental capacity that is idle hardware looking for work — every interruptible listing across every feed we read, over everything listed. Recorded every half hour since 23 Aug 2026.

Why this number.
Ecologists judge a wetland by listening for frogs; we judge the GPU market by listening for idle silicon. An interruptible listing is a machine that is racked, powered, priced, and doing nothing. When the index runs high, the cheapest compute on earth is sitting in plain sight and the pond is loud. When it falls, the market is tight and spot prices will follow.
Every point is computed from listings we recorded ourselves, nothing modeled and nothing interpolated. Where the tape is shorter than the window, the chart shows exactly as much as exists.
